Autism continues to affect many families all over the world and finding a cure is critical. The number of cases continues to increase with about 1 in 1000 children affected worldwide and 1 in 68 in the US. We see the important work done by autism speaks in our community as they spread awareness and educate families.
In 2013, Team Uhuru joined the fight against autism to help bring awareness in our community and raise funds in research for a cure. Our goal this year is to raise $2,000. New team T-shirts are available for 2016 making the donation target $20.00/Adult and $15.00/Child.
Over the years, Uhuru has encountered many challenges, but has greatly improved. He has been learning to speak and answer questions, and he even blessed us with a song during the holidays. This gives us even more reason to speak up. Seeing the progress in Uhuru gives our family a hope that one day the cure will be found and autism will be a thing of the past.
As we kickoff our fourth year, please join us as we raise funds for an initiative that strives to find a cure and offer assistance to those affected and their families; support the cause by recruiting more volunteers, finances, and providing education on this topic.
Attached is a flyer to learn more about how you can join us in participating in the walk and/or contributing a general donation to support our nephew/brother/son/cousin/friend in this fight against autism. Also, please help us spread the word by forwarding this email to all your friends, family, and co-workers.
Thank you in advance for all your support!
