Freddy LeukemiaDear family and friends. We would like to share an update regarding our little ninja warrior Freddy.

This past week and a half has been a bumpy one for Freddy. A few days after his week of Chemo, he was placed in HDU (High Dependency Unit) due complications with his kidneys and blood count levels. As of this past Sunday morning CST, he was doing so good to the point that the medical staff thought he could be moved back to a regular room to get ready for his second round of chemo treatment, but his Pediatrician insisted he be kept in HDU

Early Monday morning CST, Freddy developed a cough which became progressively worse despite efforts made by the medical staff. On Monday, August 1st at about 5am CST, Freddy unfortunately succumbed to his complications and went to be with our Lord.

Kindly keep our brother James, his wife Florence and the rest of our family in your thoughts and prayers...they need all of us now more than ever. Freddy is no longer fighting Leukemia, he is now up in heaven celebrating with the angels. He fought hard but the Lord had a better plan for him and answered our numerous prayers, in his own way.

We still have a huge battle ahead of us as we take the next steps of putting Freddy to rest, taking care of his medical bills and funeral expenses. We will keep his Gofundme Account updated in the days to come as we get the information/plans finalized. Thank you for all your prayers, words of comfort and generous donations.

The Njengas' Family.

Hi my name is Freddy. I am 6½ years old but I like to think I’m 7! I’m in 1st grade and although I love being in school, I haven’t been able to attend for the better part of this year.

2 weeks ago, I was admitted at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital and on July 7th, 2016 I was diagnosed withAML(Acute Myeloid Leukemia). My doctor told me that it’s a relatively rare form of blood disease that interferes with the production of my normal and healthy blood cells. It sounded too complicated and scary, but she was also quick to assure me that due to my young age, early detection and immediate specialized treatment, I have a very good chance of survival...I was encouraged to hear that and I’m ready to#FightTheGoodFight!

The treatment plan is a scary, intense and long process. I promise to be strong and do what the doctors and my parents say but I need all the help I can get from you. Please Pray,SupportandFightwith me because that will make it much easier for me knowing that I have everyone cheering and supporting me out there…Read More
