Congratulations to Karen Gitau on her nomination and appointment to the Citizens Advisory Committee, by the Mayor and City Council of Kennesaw.

Karen Gitau KCAC nominaion

Kennesaw has drastically grown over the years and currently has residences from most countries in the world.  Kennesaw has also seen a migration of several companies making this city their headquarters; and Kennesaw State University is one of the fifty largest public universities in her country.  The city is also proving to be one of the cities in the State by the recent closure of its jail.

With the average age of Kennesaw residences being 32 years old, there is a need to ensure that the city continues to attract people of all ages as well as all walks of life. Some of the responsibilities of Karen and those of the Citizens Advisory Committee is to study the critical issues that may affect the residences; taking testimonies from the public and performing independent research.  These issues are then discussed among the Advisory committee before being brought forth to the Mayor and City Council.

Karen GitauA couple of things happening this summer: there will be police on bicycles especially in parks, festivals etc. The aim is to have them more accessible to the public to listen to suggestions; feedback, ideas etc.

Wade Green Road will be turning to a DDI (Diverging Diamond Interchange) as seen on Windy Hill Road.  As expected, the construction will bring congestion (to the already congested morning and evening commute) - the end result will be worth it.
