Mayor Andre Dickens to Welcome President and First Lady of the Republic of Kenya
ATLANTA—The City of Atlanta is proud to announce the May 20-21, 2024, visit of President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto of the Republic of Kenya. President Ruto will arrive in Atlanta ahead of a State Visit to the White House in Washington, D.C., where he will meet with President Joe Biden, marking 60 years of U.S.-Kenya diplomatic ties.
“On behalf of our great city, it is our honor to welcome President and First Lady Ruto to Atlanta. I look forward to learning how we can further strengthen our cultural and economic partnerships, as well as joining fellow leaders in providing the world-class hospitality for which Atlanta is renowned,” said Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens.
President Ruto’s visit to Atlanta reflects the city’s vibrant growth and global importance.
The Kenyan President will meet with civic leaders and luminaries from Atlanta’s global services industries, creative economy and international health institutions, and further discuss with Mayor Dickens strategies in the development of affordable housing. President Ruto’s visit to Atlanta will strengthen partnerships in business, technology and innovation, education and with the African Diaspora.
Mayor Dickens looks forward to welcoming President Ruto for this historic visit that will forge a new relationship between Atlanta and the Republic of Kenya built upon shared goals and opportunities for both the American and Kenyan people.

THE APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION FOR THE DIVERSITY VISA IS FREE
If you are planning to enter the diversity visa program, avoid the scams by remembering these tips:
Look for .gov
Only visa information on U.S. government websites ending in “.gov” is official. Official U.S. government email addresses also end in “.gov”. Any visa-related correspondence coming from an address that does not end with “.gov” is suspect. Don’t be fooled by images of the U.S. flag, U.S. Capitol, White House or Statue of Liberty. Anything on the internet that does not end with “.gov” is likely a scam.
Never send money for your diversity visa application
There is no fee to enter the DV program. Fees for the DV application process are paid to the U.S. Embassy or consulate cashier at the time of your scheduled visa interview appointment, only after you have been selected. You will pay in person. The U.S. government will never ask you to send payment in advance by check, money order or wire transfer.
