Steve Kibare named men's Golf SSAC Player of the Year

The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) announced the 2023 SSAC men’s golf individual award winners Wednesday.

Dalton State grabbed three of the four honors, including Ben Rickett being named Coach of the Year and Steve Kibare being named Player of the Year.

• Player of the Year: Steve Kibare, Dalton State (GA)
• Coach of the Year: Ben Rickett, Dalton State (GA)
• Newcomer of the Year: Gavin Noble, Dalton State (GA)
• Freshman of the Year: Hunter Bell, William Carey (Miss.)

Noteworthy

• Kibare is the seventh-straight Roadrunner to win Player of the Year honors and the fourth different golfer to do so
• Rickett earns his fifth Coach of the Year recognition after guiding the Roadrunners to their seventh conference title
• Kibare is 9^th in the latest Golfstat Head-to-Head rankings, Noble is 15^th and Hunter Bell is 106th
